CLIENT WORK
Designed a production level printed circuit board (PCB) for a company funded on Indiegogo, and oversaw production of tens of thousands of units. Ultimately helped this company earn a $2 million investment from the investors on Shark Tank.
Developed a CAD design and several 3-D printed prototypes of a specialty hair clipper attachment.
Developed a system to read music from an SD card simply with a 16-bit microcontroller and output quality music without a digital to analog converter. Additionally used a cheap off-the-shelf accelerometer to simultaneously detect the orientation of the circuit board itself using only acceleration due to gravity.
Developed a Linux distributed server network in order to remotely gather and compile data for real-time data compilation, processing, and display on a custom front-end.
Invented a wearable electronic system for the tracking and monitoring of biometric data with feedback to the user.
Developed an Android application and a custom Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) circuit board for the real time wireless control of a system.
Developed a data logging server with internet access to internal data alongside an integrated email notification system.
Some of our projects are so top secret that we can't even post a vague technical gist of them here. That's okay, and we always prioritize the privacy of our clients!
We are very familiar with Java, C/C++, and Python. Also, we have extensive experience working with Linux and can deploy your project to the cloud or using our own server hardware! PERSONAL PROJECTS
At Fabrik8, we live, eat, and breathe engineering and development.
We go to sleep at night thinking of the newest design patterns and about shaving just a few micro-amps of current off of the power consumption of our latest circuit design. It’s important to love what you do, and fortunately for us, we’ve found it. Here are some of the projects we've done over the years...and a lot of them were just for fun!
Built a fully automated Etch-A-Sketch clock.
Built, 3-D printed, and wrote software for a quadcopter from scratch with a team.
Full frame-off restoration and custom component creation for a 1978 Jeep CJ5 with an AMC 304 V8 to learn the ins and outs of automotive design.
Designed in CAD and CNC cut an electric guitar from scratch. Hand pressed frets and hand-wound pickup over neodymium magnets, this project rocks!
Designed and created a system for remote door-unlocking with a key-fob or with through-door RFID card scanning.
Designed and created a system for remote light switch operation with an RF key fob.
Designed a voice controlled Internet of Things (IOT) shower system which would also automatically turn on when a phone alarm went off (and serve as extra motivation to get out of bed on time!)
Developed a fully 3-D printed remote controlled airplane from scratch to study aerodynamics. It flew it a few times with very brief success!
